Challenge

Village enterprises (BUMDes) and SMEs in Kaubun, East Kutai, were producing goods with real potential but struggled to reach broader markets consistently. PT Ganda Alam Makmur saw the need to strengthen its joint marketing cooperative as the link between community products and the market, while upholding ESG principles. The challenge was building an aggregation model built to last, not a short-term fix.

What we did

Our team facilitated the strengthening of the joint marketing cooperative as a smart aggregator connecting BUMDes and SME products to broader markets. The engagement ran across two phases, building the cooperative's institutional capacity alongside market channels that followed ESG principles. The project continued our working relationship with PT Ganda Alam Makmur in Kaubun.

Outcome

The joint marketing cooperative in Kaubun now has a stronger aggregation model connecting BUMDes and SME products to wider markets. Phases 1–2 became the foundation for a more mature smart-aggregator model in the phases that followed. The project deepened our specialization in market-embedded value-chain development.
