Challenge
Cooperatives and village-owned enterprises (BUMDes) in Kaubun, East Kutai, held real potential to drive the village economy but faced limits in governance and strategic planning. PT Ganda Alam Makmur needed a facilitation partner to strengthen the capacity of local managers so community enterprises could run more professionally and sustainably. Without institutional strengthening, that economic potential risked going unmanaged.
What we did
Our team delivered skill-building, technical assistance, and strategic planning for cooperative and BUMDes managers in Kaubun. The engagement focused on making community enterprise governance more structured and accountable. This project marked the start of our long-term collaboration with PT Ganda Alam Makmur in the Kaubun area.
Outcome
Cooperative and BUMDes managers gained stronger skills and strategic-planning frameworks for running community enterprises. The governance foundation built in this phase became the basis for our continued facilitation in Kaubun in the years that followed. The engagement marked our entry into working at corporate-partnership scale.
