Challenge
After the 2024–2028 indigenous livelihood blueprint was completed, communities in Bintuni Bay moved into an operationalization stage — often the weak point of development programs where planning documents fail to translate into real action. Through its PERMATA program, the Samdhana Institute needed facilitation capable of putting the blueprint into concrete practice on the ground. The challenge spanned capacity strengthening, value chains, and market access all at once.
What we did
Our team facilitated the operationalization of the livelihood blueprint through the BINTANG initiative, covering capacity strengthening, value-chain optimization, and market-hub development via Agromos. The work ran alongside the Samdhana Institute as part of the PERMATA program in Bintuni Bay. The focus was translating a five-year plan into measurable operational steps.
Outcome
Communities in Bintuni Bay now have stronger capacity, a more optimized value chain, and market access through the Agromos market-hub. The BINTANG initiative demonstrated that the earlier livelihood blueprint could be turned into real action. The project deepened our long-term collaboration with the Samdhana Institute in Bintuni Bay.
