Challenge

Many young people leave formal education without the non-technical skills employers expect — communication, teamwork, and problem-solving are rarely taught in a structured way. ChildFund identified this gap as a key barrier in the transition from school to work. What was needed was a curriculum field facilitators could use directly, not just theoretical material.

What we did

Our team developed a soft-skill work-readiness module built around three core competencies: communication, problem-solving, and teamwork. The module was designed around activities and group discussion so it could be facilitated easily across different regional contexts. This project marked our first collaboration with ChildFund in Indonesia.

Outcome

The finished module is ready for ChildFund facilitators to use in preparing youth for the workforce. Its activity-based approach makes the material easier to absorb than one-way training. The project became the starting point of our track record in community-based capacity development.
